Well, I’m totally speechless when I read this comic strip. I initially thought that Jorge Cham was just making it up. However, after my search on the search engines, it turned out to be one of the recent news on the web, saying that this founder was just passed away (it is exactly on the same day when this comic strip created). I’m amazed how informative Jorge Cham could be about this news, but I just felt that, it might not be that "politically correct" to post this strip – at least for the sake of "respect". Anyhow, Ramen is always one of the important "characters" in PhDComics, of course, such a "breaking news" must be informed to the supporter of the comics.
P/S: In the last trip to New York City, I just realized that the Nissin (Ramen) advertisement on Times Square was removed after it had been displayed for quite a long time. At least since the first time I had been in Times Square, until the last year when I was visiting the place again, the advertisement board was still up there at the top of one of the towers. Are they cutting the budget to advertise themselves on Times Square?
what?????
Yes? He passed away!
