What’ve been done? What can be done?

Some times, we should really think about what we did to the environment, and what the environment might do to us. Most of us know about the wildfire happened near Los Angeles and San Diego, and realized how scary it is. A boy finally admitted what he did that caused the disaster (http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/10/31/fire.california/index.html). Yes, this is one way to be on the news, but do you think it worths it? More importantly, do you think is it worth having this kind of fun? Carelessness happens, but a lot can be avoided. Small good effort can make a difference, but small carelessness can make a "counter-difference" as well.

Tropical storm season is approaching again, and this is particularly bringing attention to the people in the Florida area. Until now, New Orleans still cannot be recovered as before. I recently read a new about the delay of constructing the barrier system to withstand the storm for the city. Yes, it is sad to hear that. We always say that we have to know how to define what is "important/not important", and what is "urgent/not urgent", but the government cannot even do this simple definition. Not to ellaborate this further. But, should we solely blame the government? What have we done to cause these? What should we do?
